About Text

MITA (Mita Institute and Tech Accelerator) is a Venture Fund, a Business Accelerator and a Forum (the MITA TechTalks). The MITA Institute is about more than technology, entrepreneurs or the construction of a venture ecosystem between the US and Mexico – MITA’s goal is to build an economy in the region that is based on innovation. In doing so, we strive to create sustainable economic development and improve the lives of many across the region.

MITA is the only fund of its type with a stellar advisory board, seasoned mentors and a mix of successful investors deeply rooted in both Silicon Valley and Mexico.

MITA is focused on making investments in early-stage technology and Internet startups that demonstrate the potential to disrupt their market. Our partners work directly with our teams to add value, and build these ideas game-changing companies. MITA provides much needed capital to young companies, through new sources of capital skilled at investing in technology, together with active mentorship. MITA Fund II will also provide later-stage funding for proven companies expanding into the Mexico/LatAm market. The MITA Fund is supported by its close ties to Silicon Valley, Austin and other key regions for tech innovation and investing. We also work to identify opportunities for grants and public funding support.

Read whitepaper on Mexico’s Private Equity/ Venture Capital opportunities coauthored by MITA managing partner Robin Enrique Reyes, Michael Camuñez (president of ManattJones), and Ambassador James Jones (chairman of ManattJones).

Right Click to Download This study highlights that: “Many opportunities await in Mexico and a robust PE market is clearly emerging. Opportunities are ripe for investments and, with increased exits on the public market, Mexico has become the fifth-largest market for IPOs in terms of both numbers and volume.”

MITA will primarily explore and identify investment opportunities with companies that offer particular technology-related goods and services that are developed by Mexican or Latin American entrepreneurs, or will extend into the Mexican and Latin American markets, but we are of a global mindset, and are open to all opportunities.

MITA generates a valuable pipeline of investment opportunities as the most selective and premier partner for capital and mentorship in Latin America. This pipeline is growing from our alliances with Mexico’s top university incubation programs, established VC funds, and with the established and growing startup community network within Mexico and Latin America, where MITA is an active participant.

We believe in building a supportive and collaborative relationship between MITA and the entrepreneurs and teams in which we invest, and strive to add value. MITA’s partners are directly involved in our interactions with our teams.

Consideration of funding by MITA is by way of the MITA Application.
