Jon Duncanson

Jon Duncanson runs Aviana Productions with Sylvia Gomez, an all-things-media company that specializes in CEO media consulting and producing corporate messaging films.  Aviana’s clients have included Accel Partners, Atlassian, Intel Corp., Deloitte, Greg Norman and Punta Mita, among many others.  The Mill Valley, CA firm has won over a dozen communication awards since its founding in 2007. Jon has over 20 years of award-winning journalism and media experience. He began his career with United Press International and Time Magazine. He went on to become a correspondent at NBC News as well as an anchor of news programs in Chicago. His work has appeared on NBC News, The Today Show, CNN, ABC’s Nightline, and CBS News. Jon won multiple Emmy Awards for his coverage of the Tsunami after it’s devastation of Banda Aceh, Indonesia, as well as for his ongoing coverage of the wars in Bosnia and the former Yugoslavia. His efforts were documented in the French film “The Trouble’s We’ve Seen-A History of Journalism in Wartime,” by Academy Award-winning director Marcel Ophuls. The film received the International Critic’s Award at the Montreal World Film Festival. Jon has also covered wars in Colombia and Central America.
